Get your auction, presentation, devices and streaming setup ready before opening Stream Studio. Completing these checks beforehand can help avoid issues when it is time to start the live stream.

Check Your Auction

Stream Studio is designed for multi-lot, in-room auctions and works alongside the auction presentation. Before getting started, make sure you are working with the correct auction and presentation.

Step 1: Confirm the auction is a supported multi-lot, in-room auction.

Step 2: Confirm the correct presentation has been selected.

Step 3: Confirm the presentation contains the layouts and elements required for the auction.

Step 4: Confirm any scenes you plan to use during the stream have been configured.

Stream Studio uses the presentation configured for the event, so the available layouts and presentation elements will depend on how the presentation has been set up.

Check Dolby and YouTube

Step 1: Confirm Auctions Live Stream Pro is active for the account. You can check this by looking at the Stream Key section. If Stream Pro is active, you will see two icons next to the Stream Key.

Step 2: Confirm the client's YouTube channel is configured and ready to receive the live stream.

Step 3: If Auctions Live Stream Pro is not active or you are unsure whether the streaming setup is enabled, contact your Auctions Live representative for assistance.

Check the YouTube Setup

Step 1: Confirm the client's own YouTube channel has been configured for the live stream.

Step 2: Confirm the required YouTube setup has been completed before the auction starts.

Dolby and the client's YouTube channel are both part of the Stream Studio streaming workflow.

Prepare Your Camera

Step 1: Connect the camera you intend to use before launching Stream Studio.

Step 2: If multiple cameras are connected, identify which camera you want to use during the auction from the camera drop-down menu.

Step 3: Confirm the camera is recognised by the computer.

Check Camera Placement

Step 1: Check where the camera will appear within the presentation.

Step 2: If the presentation has been designed with a specific area for the camera, make sure that area is available.

Step 3: Confirm the camera will not cover important auction information.

Layouts with suitable negative space make it easier to position the camera during setup.

Prepare Your Microphone

Step 1: Connect the microphone you intend to use before launching Stream Studio.

Step 2: If multiple microphones are available in the drop-down menu, identify which one should be used for the auction.

Step 3: Confirm the microphone is recognised by the computer.

Stream Studio allows you to select the microphone and adjust its volume once it has been detected.

Close Other Applications Using Your Devices

Step 1: Check that your camera and microphone are not being used by another application.

Step 2: Close any applications that are using the camera or microphone before opening Stream Studio.

For example, if the same camera is being used in a video conferencing application, Stream Studio may not be able to access it correctly.

Connect Devices Before Launching

Step 1: Connect your cameras and microphones to the computer before opening Stream Studio. This allows the required device drivers to load correctly before you begin.

Step 2: Confirm the computer recognises all connected cameras and microphones.

Step 3: Confirm the required USB-connected devices are available and can be selected in Stream Studio.

USB-connected devices can be used when they are recognised by the computer. IP or network-based cameras are not currently guaranteed to be compatible with Stream Studio.

Prepare Your Computer

Step 1: Confirm the computer can comfortably run the auction presentation and Stream Studio.

Step 2: Use a second screen where possible so you can monitor both the auction presentation and Stream Studio during the event.

Step 3: If the computer does not have enough processing power to comfortably run both, use separate computers for the presentation and Stream Studio.

Check Your Presentation Layout

Step 1: Check the presentation pages you expect to use during the live stream.

Step 2: Confirm there is enough space for the camera where required.

Step 3: If the camera needs to appear alongside property information, confirm the selected presentation layout provides a suitable area for the camera.

Step 4: Open the relevant presentation page during setup so the camera can be positioned correctly before going live.

Complete Your Final Pre-Stream Check

☐ Confirm the correct auction is selected.

☐ Confirm the correct presentation is selected.

☐ Confirm the auction is a supported multi-lot, in-room auction.

☐ Confirm Dolby is enabled.

☐ Confirm the client's YouTube channel is ready.

☐ Confirm the camera is connected and available.

☐ Confirm the microphone is connected and available.

☐ Confirm the camera and microphone are not being used by another application.

☐ Confirm the required presentation layouts are available.

☐ Confirm the camera area is suitable for the selected layout.

☐ Confirm the required scenes are configured.

☐ Confirm a second screen is available where required.

Once these checks are complete, you are ready to open Stream Studio and configure your live stream.
