Timed Auction Alerts Explained

How Auctions Live keeps bidders, agents and auctioneers updated

Timed auctions allow bidders to place bids online within a set time frame. The information below explains how timing, pauses and extensions work so bidders and agents can participate with confidence.

Please be advised:

  • The auction start and end time may change.
  • The auction may be paused or resumed at the auctioneer’s discretion.

For your confidence, when a timed auction is paused and then resumed, the countdown timer will reset as follows:

  • The auction will resume with at least 3 minutes remaining if the auction is paused for under 2 minutes.
  • The auction will resume with at least 15 minutes remaining if the auction is paused for over 2 minutes.

Whenever a bid is placed within the last 3 minutes of the auction, the timer will be extended so that there are always at least 3 minutes remaining. This gives all bidders a fair opportunity to respond before the auction closes.

Timed Auction Notifications Explained

Throughout a timed auction, Auctions Live automatically sends a range of communications to selling agents, auctioneers and bidders. These notifications are designed to keep everyone informed in real time and ensure that no critical updates are missed.

Notifications can relate to changes in auction details, bidder activity and system events. This helps you monitor changes, manage registrations and track bids without needing to manually watch every detail.

Triggered Communication Matrix

The triggered communication matrix outlines each notification that Auctions Live sends during a timed auction, including who receives it and through which channels. Use this matrix to understand exactly how and when information is shared with selling agents, auctioneers and bidders.
