Auctions Live Fee FAQs

Understanding when listing fees apply in Auctions Live

Understanding when listing fees apply is one of the most common questions we receive from agencies using Auctions Live.

This guide explains when fees are triggered, how sold prior, withdrawn and postponed auctions are treated, how duplicate listings are charged, and when special auction configurations become billable.

The key principle is simple: a listing becomes billable when an auction type is assigned to the property within Auctions Live. All other fee scenarios stem from this rule.

What triggers a listing fee in Auctions Live?

A listing becomes billable when an auction type is assigned to a listing within Auctions Live. Listings can be imported from your CRM or created manually without incurring a charge. A fee only applies once an auction type is allocated to the listing.

Does importing a listing from our CRM trigger a fee?

No. Importing a listing from your CRM does not create a charge. Listings are imported into Auctions Live in an unassigned state and only become billable when an auction type is assigned.

Does manually creating a listing trigger a fee?

No. Creating a listing manually within Auctions Live does not automatically generate a charge. The listing only becomes billable once an auction type has been assigned.

Are fees only charged if the auction takes place?

No. Fees are not dependent on the auction proceeding on the scheduled auction day. Once an auction type has been assigned to a listing, charges apply in accordance with the Subscriber Terms and Conditions.

If a property is sold prior to auction, do fees still apply?

Yes. Once an auction type has been assigned, the campaign becomes billable under the Subscriber Terms and Conditions, even if the property is sold prior to the scheduled auction date.

If a listing is withdrawn from auction, do fees still apply?

Yes. Where an auction type has already been assigned, charges still apply even if the auction campaign is later withdrawn. This is because platform resources, operational services and auction infrastructure have already been allocated to support the campaign.

If a listing was never published, do fees still apply?

Yes. If an auction type has been assigned to the listing, charges apply regardless of whether the listing was ever publicly published through Auctions Live.

Can sold listings be added to an Muli-Lot / In-Room Order of Sale?

Yes. If your office adds listings that have already been sold into a Multi-Lot / In Room Order of Sale, standard fees will apply in accordance with Schedule 4 of the Subscriber Terms.

What happens if an auction is passed in and later re-run?

If an auction is passed in and your office decides to conduct another auction, a new Raw Duplicate Listing must be created. Because the duplicated listing requires a new auction assignment, it becomes billable under the standard fee structure.

Will we still be charged if an auction is postponed?

Yes. However, Auctions Live includes postponement rules that are designed to prevent duplicate billing in eligible circumstances. If the auction is rescheduled within 120 days of the original assigned auction date, your office will only be charged for the most recent scheduled auction.

Tip: Review the postponement rules before creating a replacement auction date to ensure your campaign remains eligible under the postponement policy.

What happens if the auction is not re-run within 120 days?

If the auction is not conducted within the 120 day postponement period, the single auction fee will be all that is required to be paid. If the auction is rescheduled to take place after the 120 day period, additional full fees will apply.

For more information, refer to the Auction Postponement Rules.

How are duplicate listings charged?

Duplicate listing fees are applied based on the duplication method selected.

  • Duplicated with Sold Price incurs a fee equal to 25% of the selected auction type fee outlined in Schedule 4 of the Subscriber Terms.
  • Duplicated with Sold Price and Status incurs a fee equal to 25% of the selected auction type fee outlined in Schedule 4.
  • A Raw Duplicate Listing incurs 100% of the selected auction type fee as outlined in Schedule 4.

When are Multi-Lot / In-Room Auction configurations chargeable?

Effective from 1 July 2026, all lots assigned within a Multi-Lot / In-Room Auction presentation become billable once an auction type is assigned.

This applies regardless of whether every configured lot ultimately proceeds to auction. Charges are based on the auction configuration, setup work and platform resources allocated to support the campaign.

The primary purpose of this change relates specifically to auction campaigns where a property is initially offered as a single combined lot and, if not sold, is subsequently auctioned as separate individual lots within the same presentation.

For more information, refer to the Important Update for Multi Lot and In Room Auctions.

Why do Auctions Live fees still apply if the auction does not proceed?

Auctions Live supports the entire auction campaign lifecycle, including pre auction preparation, bidder engagement, compliance workflows, live streaming, auction day delivery and post auction processing.

Like real estate portals that charge once a property is published, Auctions Live applies fees once a subscriber commits a listing to an auction campaign by assigning an auction type. This billing structure reflects the operational support, technology infrastructure and campaign resources required to deliver a successful auction experience from start to finish.
