Phone Number Validation & Formatting

We have resolved an issue affecting some bidder and buyer registrations where phone numbers entered without a leading "0" were not being correctly captured by the system. In some cases, this resulted in selling agents receiving incomplete contact information within registration notification emails, making it difficult to contact registered buyers.

This enhancement introduces stronger validation and formatting controls across key registration and enquiry workflows to improve the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of phone number data captured throughout the platform.

What’s Changed

To improve data quality and ensure agents receive complete and usable contact information, phone number validation has been enhanced across all relevant forms.

• ● Mandatory Format Validation: Users are now required to enter phone numbers in the correct format before a form can be submitted.
• ● Leading Digit Verification: Validation now ensures that phone numbers contain the required leading digits where applicable, helping prevent incomplete contact details from being stored.
• ● Length Restrictions: Phone numbers that exceed the accepted length will now be rejected, reducing data entry errors and formatting inconsistencies.
• ● Improved Data Consistency: Standardised validation rules ensure phone numbers are captured consistently across all supported registration and enquiry channels.
