What Is a Non-Financial Account?
Understanding Non-Financial Accounts on Auctions Live
Some offices access Auctions Live without holding a direct subscription with RE Software. These are referred to as Non-Financial Accounts and are typically part of a Corporate Group or Auction House arrangement.
What Is a Non-Financial Account?
A Non-Financial Account is an office or agency that uses the Auctions Live platform without being directly invoiced by RE Software. Instead, access is granted through a Corporate Group or Auction House subscription.
Users of these accounts are required to accept RE Software’s Terms and Conditions every time they log in to access the platform.
They are not financially responsible for the service themselves.
What Can Non-Financial Account Users Do?
Users on Non-Financial Accounts have access to essential platform features needed for day-to-day operations. These include:
- Adding additional office users
- Creating and managing Selling Agent profiles
- Managing bidder registrations
- Uploading listing-related documents
- Activating select compliance features (e.g. Authority to Bid, Vendor Reserve Letters)
While their access is limited compared to Financial Account holders, these tools support smooth auction operations.
Initial Setup and Primary User Access
When a Non-Financial Account is created, RE Software invites a Primary User to get started. This person is typically the Office Administrator or Principal, nominated by the Auction House or Corporate Group.
The Primary User can:
- Add and manage other office users
- Assign user access to selling agents
- Manage system settings
Important: Only users within the office (not the Corporate Group or Auction House) can manage system settings. This ensures each agency retains control and accountability.
Why Can’t Corporate Groups or Auction Houses Manage Settings?
Each office is responsible for how it uses the platform. As some offices may be connected to multiple Corporate Groups or Auction Houses, allowing external control could create confusion or conflicts.
This structure maintains:
- Clear responsibility
- Operational independence
- Accurate system use at the agency level
Support for Corporate Groups and Auction Houses
If you represent a Corporate Group or Auction House and a client is unsure about their access type, please refer them to your RE Software Account Representative for clarification.
