Using Auctions Live with Google Meet

Seamlessly Present Multi-Lot Auctions via Google Meet

This guide provides a step-by-step process for using Auctions Live’s digital screen with Google Meet to present custom multi-lot auctions.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Preparation (30 Minutes Before the Meeting)

Accessing the Presentation:
  • Navigate to In-Room Presentations > Upcoming Published and click the eye icon.
  • Copy the presentation URL and open it in a new browser tab.
  • Copy the video conferencing event URL from the Presentation Overview page and open it in a browser tab to launch Google Meet.
Presenting in Google Meet:
  • In the Google Meet tab:
  • Click Present now > Share a tab (ensure the Share audio toggle is enabled).
  • Select the presentation URL tab and begin sharing.
  • Minimize the shared tab for convenience.
Setting Up Dual Screens (If Available):
  • Arrange your Google Meet tab and presentation tab on separate screens for easier management.
  • Mute your microphone and turn off your camera in Google Meet to prevent audio feedback and unwanted visibility.

2. Starting the Auction Presentation

Start the Auction:
  • On the Overview page (Upcoming Published > Eye Icon), click the green Start button.
Play the Intro Loop:
  • Click the red Intro Loop button to initiate the introductory sequence.
Auctioneer Introduction:
  • The Auctioneer will state the auction’s terms and conditions.
  • Click the purple Auction Terms button to display the terms.
  • The intro loop may automatically hide the Auctioneer from view.
  • If the Auctioneer joins using a virtual camera (e.g., via OBS) that integrates their video and the presentation, you may stop sharing the presentation tab.

3. Conducting the Auction

Navigate Through Auction Slides:
  • Click Next to progress through slides explaining the bidding process.
Initiate Bidding:
  • Click the green Go to Property Bid Page to transition into bidding mode.
  • Conduct bidding as per the auction proceedings.
Conclude the Auction:
  • At the auction’s conclusion, click the Outro Loop button to end the session smoothly.

For further details on managing the In-Room Control Panel, refer to the Subscriber User Guides.

Additional Tips
  • Ensure the Auctioneer’s OBS virtual camera is set up correctly before the meeting.
  • Test audio and video settings in Google Meet beforehand.
  • Keep the presentation URL tab open in case you need to reshare quickly.
  • Double-check that your microphone and camera are off in Google Meet to avoid interruptions.

By following these steps, you can deliver a professional and seamless auction experience using Auctions Live, OBS, and Google Meet.
