Using Auctions Live with Google Meet
Seamlessly Present Multi-Lot Auctions via Google Meet
This guide provides a step-by-step process for using Auctions Live’s digital screen with Google Meet to present custom multi-lot auctions.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Preparation (30 Minutes Before the Meeting)
Accessing the Presentation:
- Navigate to In-Room Presentations > Upcoming Published and click the eye icon.
- Copy the presentation URL and open it in a new browser tab.
- Copy the video conferencing event URL from the Presentation Overview page and open it in a browser tab to launch Google Meet.
Presenting in Google Meet:
- In the Google Meet tab:
- Click Present now > Share a tab (ensure the Share audio toggle is enabled).
- Select the presentation URL tab and begin sharing.
- Minimize the shared tab for convenience.
Setting Up Dual Screens (If Available):
- Arrange your Google Meet tab and presentation tab on separate screens for easier management.
- Mute your microphone and turn off your camera in Google Meet to prevent audio feedback and unwanted visibility.
2. Starting the Auction Presentation
Start the Auction:
- On the Overview page (Upcoming Published > Eye Icon), click the green Start button.
Play the Intro Loop:
- Click the red Intro Loop button to initiate the introductory sequence.
Auctioneer Introduction:
- The Auctioneer will state the auction’s terms and conditions.
- Click the purple Auction Terms button to display the terms.
- The intro loop may automatically hide the Auctioneer from view.
- If the Auctioneer joins using a virtual camera (e.g., via OBS) that integrates their video and the presentation, you may stop sharing the presentation tab.
3. Conducting the Auction
Navigate Through Auction Slides:
- Click Next to progress through slides explaining the bidding process.
Initiate Bidding:
- Click the green Go to Property Bid Page to transition into bidding mode.
- Conduct bidding as per the auction proceedings.
Conclude the Auction:
- At the auction’s conclusion, click the Outro Loop button to end the session smoothly.

Additional Tips
- Ensure the Auctioneer’s OBS virtual camera is set up correctly before the meeting.
- Test audio and video settings in Google Meet beforehand.
- Keep the presentation URL tab open in case you need to reshare quickly.
- Double-check that your microphone and camera are off in Google Meet to avoid interruptions.
