Enhanced Lot Re-Ordering within Multi-Lot Auction Events

We’ve introduced a comprehensive set of improvements to lot re-ordering in Multi-Lot Auctions, providing a faster, more intuitive and flexible way to manage lots and Time Breaks.

These enhancements make it easier to make precise changes, navigate larger auction sequences and maintain an accurate order of sale.

Direct Lot Positioning

Subscribers can now move a lot directly to a specific position by entering the desired sequence number.

For example, to move Lot 1 to Position 10, enter 10 in the position field and press Enter. The lot will immediately move to Position 10, with affected lots automatically repositioned to maintain the correct sequence.

If a number greater than the available positions is entered, the field will automatically reset to the lot’s current position.

Position Field Validation

To ensure reliable positioning, the position field only accepts valid whole numbers.

  • Numerical Values Only: Only whole numerical values can be entered.
  • No Special Characters or Spaces: Letters, special characters and spaces are not permitted.
  • No Negative Numbers: Negative values cannot be entered.
  • No Decimal Values: Decimal numbers are not supported.

Quick Re-Ordering Controls

Each lot now includes dedicated controls for making quick position changes.

  • Up: Moves the lot up by one position.
  • Down: Moves the lot down by one position.
  • Top: Moves the lot directly to the first position.
  • Bottom: Moves the lot directly to the last position.

Single-arrow icons represent the Up and Down actions, while double-arrow icons represent the Top and Bottom actions.

Subscribers can also continue using drag-and-drop when they prefer to reposition lots manually within the sequence.

Improved Navigation and Auto-Scrolling

Navigating larger Multi-Lot Auctions is now easier with enhanced scrolling behaviour.

Automatic Position Scrolling: When a subscriber enters a position number and presses Enter, the system automatically scrolls to the lot’s new location. A smooth scrolling animation makes it easier to quickly locate and review the repositioned item.

Drag-to-Scroll: When dragging a lot towards the bottom-right area of the lot list, the system automatically begins scrolling down the sequence, making it easier to move lots through longer auction lists without needing to manually scroll while dragging.

Time Breaks - Improved Visibility and Positioning

Time Breaks have been updated with a distinct visual treatment, making them easier to differentiate from standard lots.

They can also be repositioned using the same position controls available for lots, including entering a specific sequence number. When a Time Break is moved, affected lots are automatically repositioned so the overall auction sequence remains accurate.

Automatic Sequence Management

All re-ordering methods work together to maintain the correct auction order. Whether a subscriber enters an exact position, uses the Up, Down, Top or Bottom controls, or repositions a lot using drag-and-drop, the system automatically updates affected lot and Time Break positions.

This removes the need to manually renumber the remaining auction sequence after changes are made.

Key Benefits

  • Precise Positioning: Move lots and Time Breaks directly to an exact position.
  • Faster Re-Ordering: Use dedicated Up, Down, Top and Bottom controls for quick changes.
  • Improved Navigation: Automatically scroll to repositioned items within larger auction sequences.
  • Easier Drag-and-Drop: Auto-scrolling assists when moving lots through longer lists.
  • Clearer Time Breaks: Updated styling makes Time Breaks easier to identify.
  • Built-In Validation: Only valid whole-number positions can be entered.
  • Automatic Sequence Updates: The correct auction order is maintained automatically after changes are made.
