New Feature: Viewer Confirmation for Large Multi-Lot & In-Room Auction Events
To enhance platform stability and ensure the best possible experience for all users, Auctions Live has introduced a new widget-level feature for large multi-lot and in-room auction events.
What Has Changed?
- ● Viewer Confirmation Prompt: For auction events containing more than 40 lots, online viewers will now be prompted to confirm that they wish to continue following the auction when the scribe advances to the next lot.
- ● Automatic Prompt Display: This confirmation prompt will appear automatically as the event progresses through lots and is designed to ensure viewers actively choose to navigate with the flow of the auction.
Why Has This Been Implemented?
- ● Platform Stability: Events exceeding 40 lots typically attract significantly larger online audiences. As the auction progresses from one lot to the next, automatically moving hundreds or even thousands of viewers simultaneously can place substantial additional demand on system resources.
- ● Performance & Reliability: This enhancement helps protect the overall integrity, performance, and reliability of the Auctions Live platform during high-traffic events by reducing unnecessary automated viewer transitions.
- ● Active Viewer Identification: Many viewers leave large auction events open in the background throughout the day, even when they are no longer actively watching. This feature helps distinguish active viewers from inactive sessions, similar to the "Are you still watching?" prompts used by popular video streaming services.
Important Information
- ● Automatic Activation: The feature is automatically enabled for events containing more than 40 lots.
- ● Simple Viewer Acknowledgement: Viewers who wish to continue following the auction can simply acknowledge the prompt and proceed to the next lot.
- ● Uninterrupted Live Stream: If a viewer does not respond to the prompt, the live video stream will continue playing uninterrupted.
- ● Navigation Only: The feature only affects automatic navigation between lots and does not impact access to the live stream itself.
This enhancement ensures Auctions Live can continue delivering a reliable and scalable experience for both auctioneers and online audiences during large-scale events.
